Original Fine Art Prints. Hand-Pulled in Brooklyn.

W Editions collaborates with emerging and early-career artists to publish limited-edition prints the slow way — silkscreen, lithography, etching, woodblock.

How an Edition Gets Made

Every edition starts with a conversation and ends with a physical object. We may specialize in prints specifically, but that doesn’t mean we’re always going to be publishing prints. The process is the same whether it’s a print, a sculpture, or a random object that gets editioned.

Step 01

Artist Collaboration

We work one-on-one with emerging artists to develop each edition — sometimes introducing them to a new medium, sometimes going deep on one they already love. It can be silkscreen, lithography, etching, woodblock, or maybe some niche print method that you or I have never heard of: the technique follows the work, never the other way around, and if we can’t do it in house, we’ll find someone who can do it for us :)

Step 02

Hand-Printed in Brooklyn

Every layer in a print is pulled by hand using techniques that predate the internet by several centuries mixed with some modern technologies so we can keep up with the rapid changes in contemporary art like the use of photographic materials and new print techs.

We don’t (exclusively) use inkjet printers, no “giclée” printing here, no laser prints because there are other places that specialize in that — and they’re really good at what they do.

(We might experiment a little with Riso printing but that’s because it’s still very closely tied to analogue printing.)

Step 03

Published, Numbered & Done

Every print is numbered, signed, and fully documented. Then the plate, screen, or block is cancelled — destroyed, archived, never used again.

What you collect is the only version that will ever exist.

Step 04

You buy it.

Did this convince you to buy a print?

Made slowly. Collected seriously.

W Editions publishes original fine art prints with artists worth knowing before everyone else knows them.

Each edition is hand-printed and limited edition.

Something new is almost ready.

Hand-printed. Yours, if you're paying attention.
